Based in Surbiton and working across London and the South East, we work fabric first, getting the building itself right before anything else, so it performs the way it should and holds on to its character. That thinking runs through everything we take on, from home extensions and sensitive retrofits to the conservation of listed buildings. We stay involved throughout the process, from the first conversation through to handover, so the work respects a building's history while improving its value for the years ahead. Every project is built responsibly, with the most appropriate materials, a low-impact way of thinking, and a commitment to longevity over convenience.

Passionate about design and its delivery through construction, John strives to provide value throughout the lifecycle of a project, beginning with the first idea to resolving challenging problems on site. Always asking questions, this desire to understand and learn underpins a sense of purpose across every project.
With experience as an Architect and Main Contractor, he’s worked on complex residential refurbishments, repurposing of large commercial buildings, and mixed-use new-build projects across London. Understanding the challenges, complexities, and competing interests that exists when developing a scheme helps John to steer projects in the right direction from the outset.
John has over 15 years experience leading large project teams from concept to completion. Completing his training at Paul Davis + Partners (now Studio PDP), he honed his skill and understanding of retrofit and refurbishment, working on prime high-end and high-profile residential refurbishments in Covent Garden, repurposing and transforming heritage buildings. More recently, working for Morrow + Lorraine (now Morrow Architects) on primarily large commercial buildings has broadened his sector experience at a time when the workplace was undergoing huge changes.
